I often try to achieve the effortless-chic look.  I’m certainly guilty of spending way too much time getting ready (but aren’t we all?) and ironically, occasionally what I’m spending so much time on is trying to make my outfit look effortless.

Being able to dress effortlessly and stylishly becomes increasingly difficult during the winter months.  Mainly because all you want to wear is a pair of comfy jeans, a big winter jacket, and some everyday boots. (And a few extra layers underneath for good measure of course.)  I get bored of this look sometimes and want to pull some heels out regardless of how cold it is, especially if I’m meeting some friends downtown or having lunch with my husband.

This brings me to the focus of today’s post: how to wear high heels but still manage to make your outfit look effortless and casual.

Here are 3 tips for you guys:

-Jeans are your best friend: casual looks always start with a nice pair of denim. As you probably know, ripped are my favorite style.  They add a bit of personality to the look while still keeping it somewhat subdued.

-Go for a classic pump: a nude pointy-toe heel is my favorite! I’ve broken these heels in and they almost feel I’m wearing slippers—ok not really, but you get the point! A nude one is always a must, they go with everything and you can wear them casually or formally.

-Dressy on the bottom – casual on top: the heels are always going to make your outfit more polished and dressy so go super casual on top. Wear a loose jacket, a chunky sweater and a cozy scarf for the winter. For the summer I love a white tee and blazer or light jacket.

I hope this is useful, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
