I’m a dress kind of girl, and I love wearing them year-round. Just because it’s cold out shouldn’t mean that you can’t wear feminine, fun dresses that make you feel good. With Spring coming up soon, I’ve been stocking up on dresses that I can style to wear now, and again as temperatures get warmer.
I wore a Pinko dress and a leather jacket during Milan Fashion Week, and even though it wasn’t warm, I was able to add a few accessories to stay comfortable and winterize the look. A leather jacket is my go-to for covering up skin when wearing a dress outside during the winter.

So how exactly do I style my favorite dresses now and then in Spring? Here are a few things I keep in mind:
Cold-Shoulder Dresses – This style is great for the transition since they give more arm coverage in the winter, but without a jacket, they can be perfect for warmer temps too.
Knee-high boots – If a dress has a slit, I love pairing it with knee-high boots to provide warmth when I need it. Knee-highs are just a fun way to make a girly or plain print feel more sultry.
Slip dresses – I have a few slip dresses that I’ve been wearing to nighttime events, and I love this style of dress. They are nice because they can be dressed up when you want – think leather jacket on top and booties – but will look really cute with sneakers or mules and no jacket come Spring. I definitely plan on wearing my slip pieces during every season.
Over-the-shoulder jackets – If you want to wear a dress but it’s not quite warm enough, just throw a jacket – leather, denim, a bomber – over your shoulders instead of worn properly. This will provide some coverage but in an effortless way, and will give it an updated style vs. wearing the jacket normally.
