As many of your already know, I moved to Boston a little under a year ago. I still get asked the same question whenever I meet somebody here whether I like living in the city or not. This inspired me to write today’s post so I hope you find it helpful!

Obviously, just like how every city has its advantages, they also have their disadvantages. (The key is to make sure the former outweigh the latter!)  Overall, I think I do love living in the city, mainly because I grew up in the city of Panama, so I’m kind of used to the noise and craziness, but who knows maybe in a few years I’m going to be begging to move out to the suburbs!

I want to share more about my favorite aspects of the city life in a follow-up post, but for now I figured I’d start with some of the common disadvantages.  Here are a few of the most common ones to consider:

Cost of Living: This is a big one. Everything from the price of rent to the cost of a gallon of milk is going to be more expensive in a major city than out in the suburbs. The trick is to be smart about how you spend your money, but also weigh the pro’s and con’s. If you value having a bit more financial freedom over living in a lively area, the city life may not be the best fit for you.

The constant hustle and bustle: I could see this going either way. On the one hand, it’s fantastic always having something to do, but on the other hand, sometimes you just want a bit of peace and quiet. The constant sound of fire trucks and police cars can get a bit old sometimes!

Finding that perfect apartment: This is always SO much more challenging to do in a major city, obviously because there are a lot more people which means a lot more competition for each unit. It can get stressful spending months trying to find the right place, I’ve learned it takes a lot of patience, perseverance, and a bit of luck!

On a different topic, today’s post is another Fall outfit idea (Fall for you, more like Winter for me!) I’m into neutrals right so this outfit might be one of my favorites from this season so far. Btw, how awesome are the boots?!
