I recently shared some petite shopping hacks and thought I’d take the series a step further with one of my favorite fashion items – jumpsuits. I love this all-in-one striking piece because it’s a statement style that doesn’t require accessorizing or sprucing up. However, it can be tricky to wear if you don’t pick the right one for your height and body. I usually have to try on several before finding the perfect fit, but when I do, it’s always so chic and makes me feel glamorous. If you haven’t tried the jumpsuit trend because of your small frame or shorter height, have no fear! I’m showing you how to wear a jumpsuit when you’re petite.

Stick to solids
When you’re petite as I am (only 5’2!), the goal is to stretch your body and make you seem taller and leaner than you really are. I’ve discovered that printed one-pieces can overpower our height and size. Therefore, it’s better to stick to solids when it comes to jumpsuits. Solid doesn’t equal boring though! Your best bet is to find a fun fabric you love. I was drawn to this jumpsuit because the crochet fabric creates a summery texture that’s so light and easy to wear.
Opt for one with a fitted waist
Finding the right jumpsuit can sometimes be all about the fit. I personally feel that a belted waist works extremely well on petite sizes because it hugs our bodies and accentuates our form. This will break up the straight line appearance of a jumpsuit which results in us seeming slimmer and taller.
Choose the right length
The last component of a jumpsuit, which can dramatically impact your height is the length. If you pick one that cuts off at the ankle, you can emphasize your height with nude heels! The other option is to go with a floor sweeping jumpsuit that would look equally stunning with heels. This will draw the eyes downward and make your legs appear super long!
As you can see, the jumpsuit isn’t that scary to tackle even if you’re petite! Are you wearing jumpsuits this summer?
