New York Fashion Week is finally over, and I’ve already headed back for LA. I thought I’d recap a few of my favorite shows and looks for you guys. The week started out with unloading and hanging up all my clothes at the James Hotel NoMad. It’s one of the first things I do so that I can steam any wrinkled pieces and so I know how to style my outfits. I love staying at the James Hotel because the amenities are beautiful. I mean take a look at the restaurant and bar! And the rooms are extremely comfortable (see below). When I’m away from home, this is about as close to home as it gets.

Day One

My first look was an all black outfit because I wanted to keep it classy and simple for NYC. I went with a jumpsuit, boxy vinyl jacket, cat eye sunnies, and my newly loved Carolina Herrera bag. As for shows, we kicked it off with Cinq a Sept which was the most charming set up I had ever seen. The room was stunning and reminded me of Paris. The ruffly, romantic pieces were gorgeous and so romantic. It’s just what I would expect from Cinq a Sept.

I also attended the Stuart Weitzman Presentation and it was full of life and vivid colors – so many fun shoes I’d wear. Then, I wrapped up Day 1 with the Tom Ford show, and that was an amazing experience. It’s not everyday that you get to see Tom Ford or his show, so I couldn’t have been more grateful for this opportunity.

Day 2 started out with getting my hair done by the Mane Addicts team. They did such an excellent job with my hair, and I’m not sure how I would have survived this season without them. I love the slicked back, soft, glamorous waves of this look, which set me up for a wonderful day. Also, how wonderful is the James Hotel bathroom? I can’t get enough of the wood and marble counters!

My first look for the day was this pink fur coat for the Kate Spade presentation. I was surprised at the mix of feminine and masculine silhouettes, which is something I wouldn’t think of for Kate Spade. However, the set up was gorgeous and I loved the collection. I saw several characteristics inspired by the 60s and 70s, which I can’t stop thinking about.

I then ended the day with Tom Ford’s fashion show. I was excited for this one because it’s so hard to get into. It was a humbling experience and full of 80s influences.

Day 3

NYFW

Day 3 didn’t lend the most pleasant weather but I had a lot of fun visiting the new Blanc & Eclare shop. Most of what I’m wearing in this look was from that store. It was started by Jessica, a former member of a popular K-Pop band, and I just love all the fashion forward styles!

I also attended the Tanya Taylor presentation and thought it was set up splendidly with the orange backdrop and silky dresses. You can see more of this on my Instagram highlights.

Day 3 ended with Tom Ford’s Cocktail Party. For a chic event, I went with a toned down gray suit – something chic and elegant just the way I like. It was great to see old friends, celebrate some new product launches, and just enjoy the night with a few glasses of champagne.

Day 4 consisted of the Ralph Lauren and Zimmerman shows and then the Chanel Couture Presentation. I wasn’t able to get many photos of the first two, but the Chanel presentation was a great learning experience. When you touch, feel, and see these pieces, you can tell that the quality is superb and unlike anything I’ve seen before. The hours that go into every single piece are truly a labor of love.

I then changed into this evening look here for the Carolina Herrera show. Everything about her brand is so elevated and chic, so I thought these tailored pieces would be perfect. I’m honestly torn that this will be her last show but so honored at the same time that I was able to see it.

Day 5

Day 5 was full of meetings and catching up with friends. I mentioned before that NYFW is a time for networking, so I needed to capitalize on that opportunity while I was there. It was great to be able to spend a day on business rather than just shows.

Day 6

TheGirlFromPanama.com | New York Fashion Week Recap Fall 2018 | Outside the Michael Kors Show, Street Style

I ended NYFW with the Michael Kors show, which wasn’t what I expected. It was very eclectic, mixing up facets of different styles. The looks were a little edgy, androgynous, some elegant, and some grungy. I don’t think there’s one word to describe the show collectively because it was all so individualistic. I did love the music and presentation. They definitely made the show really upbeat and exciting.

I’m skipping out on the other three cities this season, so I’ll be back with more outfits from LA! Hope you enjoyed this New York Fashion Week recap.
