Last week I had the honor of participating for the first time in one of the most important events in Panama, the Macro Fest. The Macro Fest is a celebration of the creative industry in Panama through speeches, presentations and a big festival. It was such an eventful week, it’s going to be hard for me to describe everything in writing, but I’ll do my best to take you back to some of the most important events.

On Tuesday of last week, I had the pleasure of speaking to an audience about the business of blogging. I was able to share my experience, how I got to where I am today and the things I did to start my own blog. People were really interested in this topic and felt so fortunate that we were all able to start a conversation about this industry in Panama.

I also had an amazing experience walking through the streets of el Casco Viejo with Miky and the rest of the NEO! team discovering all of the little shops and galleries that this area has to offer. If you follow me on Snapchat, then you got a little preview!

One of my favorite activities was walking in the streets of La Central to learn about the textile industry in Panama. It was so interesting to learn that most of our Kuna Indians dress in fabrics that are designed by them, but they are not manufactured in our country. This opened another conversation as to why are we not providing them the tools necessary to create their own materials here in Panama. Meanwhile, Ingrid and Super Mini Diablo Rosso continue to support and promote national talent throughout this amazing tour.

The event was developed as an encounter of visions, ideas, concepts and experiences in the areas of music, fashion, visual arts, design and cinema where national and international speakers shared their knowledge and creativity with the city. Macro Fest plays a crucial role in the exhibition of ideas of emerging artists.

Throughout the week I realized there is so much talent in Panama, for example, NATIVO is a Panamanian artisanal organic skincare line. All the ingredients are natural and are aimed to “capture nature’s power as a means to kindle physical and spiritual transformation.”

Every day was filled with amazing events, we went to eat and discover some of the most beautiful places and restaurants in Panama. To mention a few, Intimo, Casa Jaguar, Atlantic-Pacific, American Trade Hotel, Las Clementinas, 8 y Medio, I mean, so many places! Which also made me think, the culinary experience in Panama is something out of this world! There are so many amazing restaurants and places to visit in the city.

The reason why I’m sharing this with all of you is because I want to encourage you to visit Panama. Panama has become one in of the most popular countries to visit in Latin America, not to mention it is the number one country to retire in worldwide! There is so much potential in the city, there is so much talent. I’m truly amazed by how much we have been able to accomplish in such little time.

Special thanks to Neo! Creative Consulting, Miky, Natalia, Katherine, The Authority of Tourism in Panama, Physical Modelos, Macro fest, Super Mini Diablo Rosso, Susi Aramburú, Ingrid Cordero and everyone else involved for inviting me to this amazing event!
