12 Things You Need in Your Closet for Fall

We’re finallyyy getting small hints of fall here in Los Angeles and I’ve been curating my closet to follow suit. As you probably know, I’m always a fan of timeless, classic pieces mixed in with trends that work for my body and personality. No matter the season, I tend to shop for items that can be mixed and matched in a variety of ways. I don’t have a strict capsule wardrobe or anything, but I do believe in versatile staples for each time of year.

While shopping for my Fall 2019 closet, I realized there were 12 essential items on my list that I wanted to share with you today. If you’re doing any shopping this fall, let this be the list to follow.

Pointed everyday bootie

I live in booties during fall and winter so I always look for a seasonal pair that are comfortable and versatile. This season, it’s all about a low block heel and pointed toe. I do love the animal print trend, but if you’re only picking one pair, I’d go with black.

A burgundy bag

While I do love the Bottega pouch that everyone is scooping up (including me), if I were to pick one single bag for Fall 2019, I’d go with a burgundy pick. The color of the accessory is beautiful for the season.

Nude oversized blazer

Speaking of blazers, they are still trending hard. Blazers have been in my closet for years and this year it’s all about an oversized fit that can be belted or left loose.

Chunky gold necklace

Are you loving the look of these? Because I am! I think the gold chain and pearl details are my favorite. Definitely a good way to add something unique to an outfit and a refreshing take on statement jewelry.

Faux leather pants

These are something I suggest spending more money on as you can really see the quality in the price when it comes to faux leather. I love these paired with oversized sweaters or that oversized blazer I mentioned above. I’m also very into the faux leather trouser and jogger look.

Bodysuit

I live in bodysuits year round so it’s no surprise I’m suggesting one here. For fall, I would go with a long sleeve version in a basic color that can layer easily.

Knee-high boot

When I want to go out or turn things up, I switch from a bootie to a knee-high version. These are a little extra and a nice way to elevate a look.

Pleated skirt

Loving this season’s take on the midi skirt. Though silk skirts are still trending, I personally like the elegance of the pleated style.

Turtleneck sweater

Of course! These look cool layered under jackets and provide an extra element with the neck detail.

Waist belt

We’re seeing everything from dresses to blazers to sweaters belted this year and it’s a very flattering take on the oversized look.

Trousers

I already shared my love for the ‘pant of the season’ here so head there if you want more info and lots of good choices. Definitely replacing my jeans this fall!

The perfect trench

Trench coats are always a fall essential for me and if you buy a timeless quality one, you’ll have it for years to come. Layer a light sweater under it for now and you can always do a turtleneck and blazer under once weather cools down even more.
