Today, I’m very excited to share the first beauty post of 2017! I wanted to create a little guide for you with 20 of my beauty faves from last year. Moving to California definitely forced me to adjust my beauty routine for the warmer weather, but I still use several of the products that I listed in this post. I know 20 might seem like a long list, but believe me when I say I could have easily included 50 or more! To make things short and sweet, here are the 20 beauty products that got me through 2016:
20 Beauty Products That Got Me Through 2016
Restorsea Cleanser: I have very sensitive skin, so finding a cleanser that is gentle enough for my skin while still providing a deep clean has always been a challenge. I love this product from Restorsea because it won’t clog your pores or cause breakouts which I’ve been prone to lately from traveling and stress.
Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Facial Toner: Using a toner is key to any skincare routine. I love this toner in particular because it balances, purifies and clarifies my skin without drying it out.
Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior: You may remember this amazing 2-in-1 Kate Somerville product from an Instagram post that I did a few weeks ago. I use it to treat fine lines and to moisturize, but also as a preventative care product. It contains hyaluronic acid which assists in keeping the skin plump, thus preventing future wrinkles.
Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate: This is another great product you might recognize from the blog! It’s clearly one of my absolute favorites and a must have if you’re experiencing visible signs of aging from the environment or day-to-day stress. I also use it as a pre-serum to enhance the effects of my other products.
Fresh Sugar Lip Polish: This is another product from Fresh that I carry with me at all times. I exfoliate my lips with this sugar scrub in order to keep my lips smooth, moisturized and lipstick ready.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant: While it’s usually best to take a gentler approach to your skin, sometimes you have to get rough! That’s why I use this as an exfoliating cleanser when I need extra help combating blemishes, uneven skin tone and reduce redness from inflammation.
First Aid Beauty Vital Greens Face Mist: I keep this little mist handy to instantly quench dry skin when I’m traveling. What’s great about this product is that you can spray it over makeup to hydrate your skin and set your makeup products for longer wear!
(Malin+Goetz) Clarifying Clay Mask: A detox for your face! I use this anti-bacterial mask twice a week and take it with me every time I travel. The kaolin clay assists in drawing out impurities creating a more even-textured appearance to my face.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Makeup Removing Solution: I love to begin my nightly skincare routine with this! In order to get my face as clean as possible and get the most out of my other products, a makeup-free face is a must. Bioderma uses fatty acid esters to protect and rebuild the skin’s surface so it’s not too harsh on the gentle areas around your eyes.
First Aid Beauty Blemish Control Pads: This is another great product for when your skin decides to act up. The pads are perfect for tightening up larger pores that tend to cause breakouts and it also aids in keeping my skin smooth and matte.
Bb Hair Dresser’s Invisible Oil Primer: This oil is perfect for pre-styling your hair; my hair is super thick so it makes it much easier to brush when it’s wet. It also protects from heat and environmental damage!
Living Proof Frizz Weightless Styling Spray: As you already know, I love Living Proof products! I can’t go without this styling cream, it blocks out humidity which really helps combat frizz. It’s also great for those of you with thinner hair because it doesn’t weigh it down.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: This is such an incredible product, I use it every day to add volume and texture. When I don’t have time to wash my hair it doubles as a dry shampoo and Oribe’s signature scent amazing.
Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Yeux: This cooling eye gel from Chanel has changed my life! This is another product that I’ve posted before and had to post again because it truly keeps my eyes looking smooth, refreshed and wide awake.
Chanel Sublimage La Protection UV: The best beauty advice that I have ever received is to protect my skin from the sun. It can seem like a hassle at first but luckily, Chanel makes that easy with their Sublimage La Protection UV. It’s SPF 50 and protects from UVA and UVB rays while also combatting aging.
Chanel Le Lift Masque De Massage: I love to use this mask before a special occasions or events. It instantly lifts and firms my skin. It gives your skin a supple texture that creates the perfect canvas for makeup application.
Chanel No. 5 L’Eau: A few months ago I wrote a post on the story behind this latest generation of Chanel No. 5. This classic, sensual, floral fragrance will you feeling feminine and fresh all day.
