We traveled to California last week and we planned for the last 48 hours of our trip to be in the LA area. Here are 7 fun things you can do if you are planning to go for a short trip:
7 Fun Things To Do in LA
Have an acai bowl: I’m obsessed with acai bowls they are so delicious and supposedly good for you too. We tried two well-known spots in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills Area: Rawberri and Backyard Bowls. Both were great, but at Backyard Bowls we actually spotted Jake Gyllenhaal, so I’m giving them extra points for that!
Eat healthy without sacrificing flavor: LA is one of the few places you can do this from what I’ve seen. They have gourmet vegan restaurants that will really rock your world. We tried Gracias Madre and absolutely loved it.
Go to a rooftop bar/pool: we stayed at the Sixty Beverly Hills and they had an amazing rooftop bar and pool that was super lively during the day. We also spent both nights there after coming back from dinner for a couple late night drinks.
Go shopping: You have to check out Rodeo Drive just to see all the amazing stores and fancy cars. For another area with great stores, check out Melrose Avenue. That’s where I got my Isabel Marant sneakers from yesterday’s post. I haven’t stopped wearing them since!
Have a fancy dinner: There are so many options for food here and tons of famous spots that you’ll see pop up regularly on social media. We decided to try The Ivy after hearing a lot about it. It’s certainly pricey, but the food, cocktails, service and décor were unbelievable. It was truly a fantastic experience.
Catch a sunset: I haven’t seen prettier sunsets than in California. While you are at the rooftop bar make sure you plan on having a couple of drinks around sunset time to snap a pic. The skies are usually clear and the weather is nice, it makes for a great time.
Take a road trip – Drive along the coastline: We actually took a little road trip starting in Manhattan beach down to San Diego and then we got back to LA on Saturday. The trip there and was really beautiful and scenic. I definitely recommend taking the scenic route rather than the boring, congested highway.
