Two weeks ago I went to Charleston with my girls Julia and Jess. We all needed a girls trip and I’m so glad we decided to visit this place because we all fell in love with it! We didn’t have much of an agenda when we got there, but it didn’t matter because there’s so much to do in this beautiful city. Today, I’m excited to share my top 5 recommendations on things to do and places to see in Charleston.
Stay at the Zero George
The Zero George is probably one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The decor, ambiance, staff, food, everything exceeded our expectations. We had a delicious breakfast every morning at the hotel. My favorite part? They offer complimentary bikes (the cutest bikes). We took advantage of them the first day to explore the city.
Rainbow Row
This is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Rainbow Row is a beautiful street with several colorful historic houses. No wonder why this is one of the most photographed parts of the city!
Candlefish
I’m obsessed with candles, I always (always!!) have one burning in my apartment. Candlefish to me was candle heaven. They have so many options to choose from! Also, they have candle-making classes and a scent library, which I thought It was really cool and different.
Dinner at Cannon Green
We ate at several places while we there, but Cannon Green was by far my favorite spot! Not only is the decor and ambiance fantastic, but the service and food are top notch as well. FYI make a reservation a few days before going there. We found out that a lot of the restaurants in Charleston require reservations weeks and sometimes even months in advance! We got really lucky the night we went, but make sure to plan ahead!
Other places I recommend trying: Minero for great Mexican food, Beech for the most delicious acaí bowls and Freddo Helado for the yummiest ice-cream!
Visit Middleton Plantation
Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark with some of the most beautiful landscaped gardens in the U.S. Definitely, one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen. There is so much history behind this place! You can read about this plantation here.
Have you been to Charleston before? I would love to hear your thoughts! xo, Pam.
