I’m a denim girl and have always been. I feel my best in a pair of comfortable jeans, and it’s one of the reasons I love living in California. Denim can be worn in most circumstances, and I constantly find myself inspired by denim trends and street style.
And while the dark skinny jean trend was fun – and is still popular, just in different shades and fits – I’m so excited that there are so many fresh ways to wear denim in 2017. From looser, more comfortable styles, to fun pairs with more flare – literally – I’m into what’s going on.
Like the pearl ones in these pictures. Cute right? They make the combo of heels + denim + blazer look more unique and feminine. Embroidered jeans in general really add personality to a look, and I wrote about the trend recently, too!

Jeans // T-Shirt // Blazer // Chanel Bag // Heels // Choker
Since I live in jeans most days of the week, I’ve been stocking up on new styles. Here are 4 denim trends of 2017 that I’m especially crushing on.
GIRLFRIEND
Girlfriends (mixed with a ram hem) are probably my favorite at the moment. It’s the updated boyfriend fit, so a little tighter around the booty and throughout the thighs, but still as comfortable. These are my go-to for everyday wear.
PATCHWORK + PATTERNED
Different shades of blue in one pair and patchwork are a fun way to wear denim. They can be flattering too!
RAW HEMS
I’m in love with the jagged, uneven, or raw hem. It’s such a fresh approach to jeans and I think they make every pair of shoe look cooler.
CROPPED FLARES
These are great with sandals or sneakers – I really like the look with flats or mules, too. Especially good for short girls, like me. Finally, something I don’t have to get hemmed, yay!
