Palm Springs is one of my favorite places to visit, and living in LA I’m lucky that it’s just a short drive away. Everything from the history (the Rat Pack used to hang here, along with a lot of old Hollywood movie stars), to the colorful design, to the trendy hotels, it’s such a happy place. And festivals have made it a go-to spot in the last decade or so, so it’s more popular than ever.
Unlike a lot of warm-weather destinations, Palm Springs has its own style. It’s very glamorous, even though you’re sitting by a pool most of the time. Very different from the boho-vibes that the Coachella crowd brings in. Think lots of big sunglasses, jewelry over swim suits, beautiful hats, sunscreen like this one from Shiseido and of course fun poolside looks. It is the desert though, and it’s usually HOT!

If you’re heading to this fun desert oasis sometime soon, here’s what to pack for Palm Springs:
Tote & bag
One of the best parts about packing for Palm Springs is that you never have to pack bulky items. Lots of lightweight pieces are all you need during most of the year, so it makes luggage easy. You can usually get away with a weekender bag and a purse for the pool.
Swimsuits
Obviously! I’m a big fan of one-pieces in Palm Springs as I just feel like it adds to the glamour, no? These are all beautiful but also perfect for when you need to take a dip – which you will!
Pool-side attire
I love a pretty dress over my suit or a pair of denim shorts, a top, and a chunky necklace. You want to stay away from anything too casual, or at least dress it up with some wedges.
Sunglasses & hats
Of course, right? The bigger the better in both regards. And a little color is perfect for Palm Springs style, so bring some fun sunglasses. Luckily, statement shades are in style right now, so there are a ton of options, and I’m always a fan of a neutral summer hat.
Accessories
From beach towels to floaties (how cute is this?!) to jewelry, your accessory game needs to be strong in PS.
Have fun!
