5 Best Self-Care Tips to Try Before Summer is Over

Best Self-Care Tips to Try This Summer // High Waisted Pants, ALC Crop Top, Cult gaia basket bag, gold earrings // The Girl From Panama

I can’t believe it’s already June guys! These last few months flew by so fast that I didn’t even realize how busy of a year it’s been. I’m sitting here in NYC wondering where time has gone and looking back on what I’ve accomplished so far in 2018. But I’m beginning to see that doing more isn’t the answer. I should strive to do less and stay focused so I don’t overwork or stress myself out. This got me thinking about some of the habits and routines I have been working on to improve and grow. Some of you might be struggling with the same thing so I wanted to share my best self-care tips to try before summer is over.

1. Disconnect from the Internet

As an influencer, disconnecting can sound like a nightmare. Being without Internet makes me feel like I’m missing out big time. But during this trip, I did some unplugging and it was one of the most refreshing feelings ever. I have to confess that it’s nice every once in a while to not worry about posting something or checking numbers constantly. It forces you to live in the moment and enjoy life!

2. Try something that makes you scared

I can get stressed easily or fall into panic mode when I can’t foresee an outcome. I don’t know if you can relate, but I am not super comfortable with uncertainty despite knowing that it’s good for me. Recently, I shared this video on Instagram and was super hesitant about it. I know it’s not a big deal but it made me nervous. Now that it’s done, I’m really happy I showed a different side of me and look forward to creating more personal content. What do you guys think? Anyway, try something that makes you uncomfortable this summer and watch how it changes your mindset.

3. Create peaceful but purposeful rituals

When you’re a busy bee, the smallest things can make the biggest difference. I started putting more effort into having a consistent morning routine and I feel that it’s brought me peace and purpose. Things like waking up early to squeeze in a work out or intently enjoying a meal that I made is comforting and makes me feel calmer throughout the day. Next on my list is mediating regularly. What’s on yours?

4. Read one or two personal development books

Summer is the perfect time to get your reading on! I’m a fan of books in the personal development arena because they help me analyze my business in different ways. Plus, the mindset training that comes with it is priceless! If you’re ambitious and have big dreams, I suggest reading one or two personal development books to strengthen your thoughts. My favorites for starters are How to Win Friends & Influence People and Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.

5. Start a running routine

My last tip is to start a running routine. It doesn’t have to intense and you can start small – try 15 minutes every morning outside. I personally feel that running is one of the best exercises you can do to relieve stress, soak up some sun, and feel better. If you’re just starting out, your chest and breathing will feel painful at first, but it gets better. I feel so much lighter and energized after my runs!
