I’ve been hiding a little secret from you guys, but so excited to be able to finally share it today. After putting it off for so long, my apartment has slowly come together.

First up is my new bright and chic living room! You guys know I’m all about simplicity with touches of glam, neutrals, and chic details. My space is cozy so I knew laying it out would be tricky, which is why I consulted the help of Joyce Pickens, an LA-based interior designer, whose work I’ve been drooling over for a long time now. After our first meet up, I knew she would be the one who could help me pull this off, and together, we did it!
I wanted my living area to be bright and neutral in order to open it up and make it feel more spacious than it really is. The bright white, gray, and beige color palette nailed it! To keep it glam but slightly understated, I made sure to add some metallic accent pieces and plush textures such as velvet. You might remember this coffee table from my last living room, which I got from Joss and Main. It always adds a nice rustic but elegant look and remains one of my favorite pieces to this day.
I also love rooms that feel fresh and airy so a few sprigs of fresh greenery helped to breathe life into my living room. I’ve always loved the fig leaf tree. Thanks to many of your suggestions on Instagram, I hope to keep this one alive.
If you’re in the process of revamping your space, my advice for achieving a bright and chic living room would be to stick to a neutral color palette. Also, arrange and re-arrange your furniture a few times to achieve an optimal layout. You’ll be surprised at what small corners can do! And to tie it all up, mix up different design elements to add character. For instance, you don’t need to buy entirely modern pieces. I combined modern with mid-century and classic styles to achieve something that mirrors my personality.
