One of the highlights from New York fashion week is seeing the CHANEL Haute Couture presentation. This season I had the chance to experience the Fall/Winter 16/17 collection up close and personal again at their showroom in New York. While Karl Lagerfeld is notorious for putting on one of the most memorable and elaborate shows every season (last season he recreated an atelier to give you an inside look into the steps of creation of each garment) there is something special about getting to be up close and personal with the pieces, and even envisioning a few of them in your closet.
This particular season was defined by boxy, yet ladylike, silhouettes and strong shoulders with Lagerfeld’s usual flair from embellishments. I loved the elongated jackets and wide leg trousers, which gave a fresh take on the classic CHANEL suit and made the pieces wearable as separates and comfy chic for Fall.
