It’s the end of August which means Summer is almost over – I know, I can’t believe it either! It sounds cliché, but seriously, I feel like the year has flown by! Anyway, I hope you’re planning some last-minute beach vacations to enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts!
I took my own advice and today, I’m waking up in beautiful Miami for a much need vacation to recharge with my family before all of the fashion week madness starts next month! I decided to show you what I packed for this trip and share some tips on how to pack for a beach vacation. I always get overwhelmed when I pack, but after traveling so much for work I have learned a few tips here and there that I would love to share with you! Hopefully, you will find these helpful.
HOW TO PACK FOR A BEACH VACATION
PICK A COLOR PALETTE
This is probably the most important tip I can share. I cannot stress this enough! Choosing a color palette will save you lots of time when getting ready in the morning during your trip, especially if you don’t have time to plan the outfits beforehand. As you can see here, I decided to stick to reds, black, lots of whites, blues, and nudes. By sticking to a color palette you maximize your outfit options because almost everything can be mixed and matched and can be styled with multiple pieces. Which brings me to the next tip…
PACK VERSATILE ITEMS
You see that striped skirt? I can style that skirt with the black bodysuit or the white shirt or use it as a cover-up for a beach trip with my one-piece swimsuit. The idea is to pack items that can be worn with multiple pieces and that can be easily taken from day to night by just switching some accessories and shoes. This is the key to packing smart and light! Also, don’t forget to pack neutrals and basics, like a white top or tee or a black cami, jeans and neutral trousers.
PLAY WITH ACCESSORIES
The key to pulling off a chic look during a beach vacation is packing different accessories. Make sure to pack a fun straw tote like this one that you can wear to the pool or beach and also, pack a neutral bag that’s a little more dressy like this one for a night-time look. You might be wearing the same top and bottom two days in a row, but if you switch your straw tote for this cute bucket bag (add some black heels!) and you’ll have a completely different look.
