Though it’s not officially summer yet, I’ve been spending a lot of time in summer attire. From traveling to Miami, Panama, and Palm Springs, and then being home in LA, it’s been a lot of mild weather. And though I can get away with a dress or something light, it doesn’t feel like sandal season yet, know what I mean? I still like having booties on and styling them with spring/summer outfits as we transition seasons.
THE LOOK
Dress // Booties // Bag // Jacket
Booties and skirts/dresses have actually always been a favorite mix of mine. There’s something unique and almost surprising about it in my opinion. Even at Coachella, I lived in this outfit – it was perfect for the desert temps that cooled down at night, and it gave me some height! A girly dress plus denim jacket is the ideal outfit option for me, and I’m obsessed with these Stuart Weitzman Wallawalla booties. Aren’t they amazing?! The suede is stunning and I’m in love with the block heel and laces. They feel cool, fresh, and luxurious all at the same time.
The key to pairing booties with summery clothing is to mix up the styles and textures between your outfit and the boots. If you’re wearing a flowy girly dress, like I am here, mix in structured chunky booties like these Stuart Weitzman ones. If you’re wearing a busy, edgy outfit (like a leather skirt and graphic tee), choose feminine booties or something neutral and simple. At least that’s how I like to do it! It’s just a quick way to make an outfit interesting. And again, it’s the perfect transitional look in between seasons.
If you’re into these booties, here are a few more options that would look great with them:
