I’ve been having such a great time in NYC – I hope you’re having a good week, too! From busy days full of meetings to eating my way around town, I always love being in such an inspiring city. And it’s true what they say about it, it really is electric!
As I’m here, I wanted to shoot something that I’m super excited about – a new series that I’m kicking off today! I’m a denim girl, always have been, and since I wear so much of it (and know you guys like to as well), I wanted a chance to showcase my favorite types in a series. Each month, I’ll be sharing which denim style I’m especially loving at the moment and sharing how to wear them. This will, of course, depend on the latest trends and season, and I can’t wait to see what you think!

Jeans // Bodysuit // Jacket (similar) // Slides // Bag
First up, for June, I’m wearing a very seasonal-appropriate but fresh way to wear jeans: Cropped White Denim. Shopbop is always I place that I go to for jeans, so it’s no surprise that I got these there. We’re seeing a lot of cropped hems in general, but a comfortable pair of white jeans (that are also forgiving) are the perfect way to start summer.
When it comes to how to style white denim, there are a few things I keep in mind:
Fit
Like I said, this pair is extremely comfortable and even flattering. The cut widens around the knee and is only tight around the booty – which is a universally flattering fit. Since some white jeans can show flaws easily, I like the looseness of this fit – and the material isn’t super thin which is always a must. The high waist also lends itself to feeling and looking good, so I’d consider this height.
Hem
I used to love white skinny jeans, but this year it’s all about raw, cropped hems. Hems that look unfinished, effortless, and like they were cut with scissors. This is key for this style this summer! Plus, the shorter cropped hem won’t leave the ends of your white jeans dirty. Once you have the right hem and fit, it’s a lot easier to put together a look that feels current.
Keep it chic
White denim is usually paired with chambray or florals, and though that works, I personally like to add chicness to the preppy feel of these jeans. Since the jeans go up high, I matched it with a striped body suit to accentuate my waist and stay on trend. Bodysuits are one of my favorite things right now, and I appreciate how seamlessly they tuck in under high-waisted fits. This particular one almost has a French Girl vibe, which I think is cool and chic, and I like the whole neutral feel that this outfit has.
Choose colors like black, gray, and nude, and prints that never go out of style, like stripes, to go with your white denim. Add a leather jacket over your shoulders to finish it off since June nights are usually still chilly.
Add slides
I could write a whole post on how much I love slides, and they are definitely what I advise wearing cropped white denim with this June. Like the raw hem, they are everywhere right now and instantly make a look fashionable. They are also really comfortable! I’m personally into a pair with a small block heel to add height but still be walkable.
