I don’t know about you guys, but the first thing I notice about clothes is definitely the color. Whether it be loud and demanding or subtle and understated, color can make or break an outfit. As it heats up outside, I’ve become more experimental with my outfits this year and have been wearing more pinks, reds, and yellows than usual. Of those colors, I’ve always found pink to be the most intimidating, yet something I’ve been really drawn to. So, I wanted to share a couple of ways to wear pink the right way.

Consider the brightness

I think one of the biggest factors that makes people a little apprehensive about the color pink is that not everybody feels like their personality fits the color. The color has such strong associations with being girly. But I say that it’s all about the shade! If hot pink isn’t your style, try a softer hue instead. Pale pink is a lovely addition to casual pieces like denim and linen pants. If you want to try a neon pink, tone it down with tailored pieces like trousers and a blazer.

Add Some Edge or Glam

Making an outfit your own is what makes you stand out, so adding a personal flair is an absolute must! If pink is a little too feminine and dainty for you, add some edge into the mix via a leather jacket, statement heels, or chunky jewelry. I’m also into glamming pink up with crystal earrings for a more sophisticated touch.

Stick to simple silhouettes

When you want an effortless, sophisticated ensemble, stick to silhouettes with clean cuts and simple details. Drowning in too much volume and intricate details, especially in a vivid hue, is never a good look. The top I’m wearing here is a perfect example – and when paired with neutral accessories, pink feels so much more grown up and elegant.

Are you guys into wearing pink this season?
