I’ve been testing so many new makeup looks and playing with color thanks to the fun beauty trends popping up this season. It wasn’t until after fashion week that I became really inspired by the fresh bold looks off the runway. For example, Tadashi Shoji’s beautiful aqua-tinted eyes, Rodarte’s fresh, glowing skin, and bold underliner at Ulla Johnson. I also saw a lot of earthy tones applied over the lids and bright pastels. They were so fresh to see.
Since I’m constantly grabbing my favorite nude eyeshadow palettes, I vowed to venture off more this year. And I knew it was the perfect time to rock colorful, bold smokey eyes when I was given the opportunity to fly home to Panama with Chanel Beauty. I have been a long time fan of Chanel’s high-quality beauty line and couldn’t wait to try the latest collections at the Coco Beauty Club! One of the looks I created using a mix of old and new products from Chanel was this bold smokey eye look that’s perfect for a summer night out. I’m sharing my step by step tutorial below so you can recreate it on your own.

Step 1
To create this look I used the Les 4 Ombres Chanel Eyeshadow Palette in 288 Road Movie. Start by applying the lightest shade of brown to your eyelid with a blending brush. This color is a great base to start building on the rest of the colors. I like the classic 217 brush from MAC for blending eyeshadow.
Step 2
Now onto color, apply the darkest shade of blue to your eyelid and close to the lash line. It’s really important that you blend this color really well to avoid any harsh edges. I love this shade of blue because it’s really unexpected and dramatic for a chic evening look.
Step 3
Now, apply the darkest shade of brown to your crease. This color mixed with blue makes for an amazing combination that’s so bold and chic. It creates a really sultry look – great for a fun night out.
Step 4
This is my favorite step and one of the best tips I’ve learned from makeup artists. Grab a smudge brush and apply the teal color to your lower lash line. This is what’s going to create that smokey, smoldering look. I actually do this trick almost every single day using my favorite Laura Mercier Smudge Brush. Even when I’m wearing neutrals, I love that effortless effect.
Step 5
To intensify the blue tone, I used another tip learned from a makeup artist. I dampened my smudge brush using the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and then re-applied the teal color again to my eyelid. When you wet the eyeshadow, it automatically intensifies the color and creates a more dramatic result. This also makes the eyeshadow last all night long. Try it and let me know how it works for you.
Step 6
Then, I go for bronzer and highlighter, my favorites! For this look, I decided to skip blush and just apply bronzer and highlighter. I used the Healthy Glow Luminous Multicolor Powder for my bronzer. This produce is from Chanel’s newest collection, Les Beiges Healthy Glow. And for highlighter, I used the Highlighting Powder in 20 Warm Gold also from the same collection.
Step 7
Finally, I applied lipstick using one of Chanel’s newest product launches, the Lip Blush in shade 414. I love this product because you can use it on your lids, lips, and cheeks – love multi-tasking products.
