Hi Guys! Day 1 of Paris Fashion Week was so much fun. I started my day with lunch at the Royal Monceau Hotel with two friends. The place is chic and beautiful and the food was really delicious. After we decided to walk to one of my favorite places in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe. The lighting was so beautiful so we took some quick pics of my look before heading to the Barbara Bui show.
I had the opportunity to go backstage with M.A.C cosmetics to see everything behind the scenes. I’m a big fan of the brand so it was a surreal experience walking into the Grand Palais and seeing the designer herself, the lead makeup artist, Christelle Cocquet, and all the models get ready for the show. The collection was inspired by London styles. Red was the main color and was present in the makeup and in several pieces of the collection.
The models did not wear foundation, only concealer where needed. They used their new mascara, Studio Quick Trick Stick on lashes and a little bit of color on the cheekbones. As for eyes, the look was really dramatic. The artists used M.A.C’s acrylic paint in basic red only on the eyelids. Then they used chromatic black black on the top and bottom waterline. To finish up the look they put a little bit of eye gloss on top of the basic red eyelid. Overall, the final makeup looked so cool with the entire collection. It made everything look very rocker-chic. If you followed me on Snapchat then you probably saw the entire show and a little bit of the backstage coverage!
After the show, I headed to Marcel with friends for a glass of wine. I finished the night with Theresa and had dinner at Le Castiglione. That was it for my recap of Day 1. As always, thanks for visiting and also, let me know if you have any questions about places to stay in Paris, where to eat etc. I would love to help! xo, Pam.
