I can smell summer in the air and it makes me so excited because denim is one of those pieces I live in all season long. The great thing about denim is that it never goes out of style, meaning you can never have too much denim. It’s also one of 2018’s most prominent trends so there couldn’t be a better time for me to put together a denim guide to help perfect your summer outfits. And I’m not just talking jeans here. Denim Cutoffs
Living in LA means I must start off my denim guide with cutoff shorts. I love cutoff shorts because they’re comfortable and stylish. You can wear anything with denim cutoffs including a sheer flirty blouse similar to the polka dot one I’m wearing, a silk cami, or a boyfriend button down and you’ll look chic in each outfit variation. You don’t have to stick to raw hems either. Try a rolled short or a tailored pair.
Denim Skirts
I also love denim skirts because it’s a great causal alternative to your classic woven minis. Denim skirts come in various lengths which is great if you’re looking for a conservative pencil or even midi length. You can rock your denim skirts with flat sandals, heels, or sneakers.
Cropped Jeans
Jeans are one of my favorite pieces to wear ever and I always quick to grab a cropped pair. I’m not exactly tall so I like cropped jeans. It gives me the illusion of height especially when I wear heels. There are also different styles you can wear like cropped flares and culottes – both look great with crop tops and blazers. I am a huge fan of this silhouette and have been wearing these Levi’s repeatedly.
Mom Jeans
Another jean style I can’t stop obsessing over are mom jeans. The high waisted fit and wider leg style may not seem flattering but with the right shoes and top, it’s surprisingly chic! Mom jeans have a certain structure to them that I find tasteful. When you’re wearing a top worth tucking, these should be a go-to.
Denim Tops
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen denim tops, but I’m loving everything I’m spotting on the market. Denim button downs were the only shirt selections for a while. However, today, you can find off the shoulder tops, bustiers, and wrap tops. It’s a great time to wear denim on denim with these fun shirt styles.

If you’re looking for a new spin on your summer dress and want something that’s not floral or silky, a denim dress is the perfect choice.
