With the weather finally feeling cooler, it’s a good time to start thinking about what new pieces to add to your wardrobe. I always like to start with jackets and boots. And while I’ll be covering boots in another post soon, today, I wanted to break down the only jackets you need for fall. Jackets have a way of setting the tone for your outfit, so they’re a pretty big deal to me. I like sticking to versatile options that look great with everything from casual to dressy outfits. Leather Jacket
At the start of fall when the weather is just beginning to cool down, I love layering on a leather biker jacket. It’s the epitome of cool – and always looks elevated with a pair of jeans (wearing these). You can never go wrong with black but color is a fresh way to change it up (love this one).
Trench Coat
The trench coat comes in handy all year round but I tend to wear them most in the fall. Whenever it’s raining or if I need a dressier outerwear option, the classic trench is my go-to.
Utility Jacket
With military and utilitarian styles having a moment in the spotlight again, my jacket of choice when it comes to trendier styles is the utility jacket. I look for details like oversized pockets and draw strings that add casual and slightly edgy details.
Denim Jacket
The denim jacket is another a great layering piece. It’s light enough that you can add a coat on top or a cardigan underneath. I love that touch of texture it lends.
Blazer
By now, it’s no surprise that a blazer is a year-round must-have for me. This season, I can’t get enough of slightly oversized, boxy styles that look a little boyish but classic. Whether you’re wearing a plain white tee like I often do or an elegant dress, a blazer will always pull you together and make you look chic.
