Happy Friday, guys! How is everyone? I’ve been busy running around New York City for fashion week, but enjoying every minute. The energy here always amazes me, even after all these years!
The weather here has been a lot cooler than LA (where it was 100+ degrees last weekend!), so it’s been so nice. It’s been the perfect chance to get the last out of my summer dresses while incorporating a bit of fall. I know that most people don’t want to hang up their beautiful dresses quite yet, so I wanted to share how I’m doing the fashion transition. By pairing summer dresses with a few things, you can get a beautiful summer-to-look.

Dress // Jacket // Bag // Heels
First up, it’s important to wear a lightweight jacket over your dress. It’s not cold enough for anything bulky, but a cropped military jacket or something similar is great. I like this jacket because the green color is gorgeous and it elevates the floral print. I wasn’t ready for a leather jacket just yet!
Next, it’s time to dress the look up. Fall isn’t as casual as summer, so I brought out statement earrings and ankle-strap heels. Instantly, I felt dressed for fall vs. summer.
Finally, consider the details of the dress. Ruffles aren’t going anywhere this fall, so they are a good option. Also, make sure the dress has some darker hues – mine has pieces of black throughout. Even though it’s floral, it doesn’t feel overly summery. Staying away from eyelet, chambray, or denim dresses will help, too.
How are you transitioning summer dresses into fall?
