Beauty Essentials I Can’t Travel Without

Fashion week is coming to an end, and I’ve had a blast. It’s one of the most tiring weeks of the year, but almost the most fun, inspiring, and exciting. From seeing friends, to the bustle of NYC, to – of course – the fashion on and off the runway, it’s one of my favorite trips each year. And though you see some of the behind-the-scenes through social media, what you might not see about NYFW is how busy it is. It’s pretty much non-stop events, shows, meetings, etc. for over a week.

Today, I wanted to share some of the beauty essentials that I can’t travel without, and can’t forget when it comes to fashion week. These keep me feeling and looking my best – even if I’ve only slept for 3 hours. I will say, I’ve seen the street style beauty change over the past few years, which is refreshing. People are wearing less makeup, relying more on good skincare and quality products, and the pressure to look heavily done up isn’t there anymore. Which is why so many of my products surround healthy, happy skin in some capacity. Here they are!

eos CRYSTAL LIP BALM

This is probably the most important item in this list! I’ve been wearing eos lip balm for years, but recently made the switch to this specific balm. It’s vegan and natural, which is something I’m trying to incorporate into my life in general. Plus, with the dry hotel rooms and air-conditioned shows, my lips become a mess if I’m not careful. It’s the perfect amount of sheerness when I want a natural look, or I’ll apply it over a lipstick to lock in the color and moisture. I was actually seeing a lot of “bare lips” this season, so this is an essential for everyday wear.

SHEET MASKS

Like I said, healthy skin is definitely a focus right now – more so than heavy makeup or contouring. Because of that, and since the days are long, I’m all about sheet masks. I bring these with me whenever I travel, and NYFW is no exception. I personally like hydrating and calming options, as those tend to be my skin concerns. I put one on before I get ready and it makes a huge difference.

EYE MASKS

When I’m not sleeping a lot, my underwires gets very puffy. I’ve started bringing eye masks or pads with me everywhere to help solve this problem. I keep the product in the fridge (or in a bucket of ice in the hotel) so that they stay cold. When they’re cold, it helps to reduce inflammation even more. And they feel SO good!

HYDRATING SPRAY

Sometimes when traveling or at NYFW, I’ll be out of the hotel for up to 16 hours at a time. Without time to come home and freshen up in between events, I use a hydrating spray. I like to spritz some right over my makeup when I need to refresh my look, and then I’ll do a makeup touch-up if necessary. The spray is perfect for the dewy complexions that we’re seeing all over the runways, too.

DRY SHAMPOO

I’m going to be honest, there isn’t always enough time to wash your hair every day when traveling, so dry shampoo becomes my BFF. If I’m not washing my hair, I just flip my hair over and spray on some dry shampoo. I’ll then take different sections of my hair and spritz along the root to help with volume.
