So yesterday I mentioned that my favorite accessory to add to an outfit is usually a blazer. Well, next to that are my vests! I have a slight obsession with vests and I think I own one of every single neutral color. Vests are a great way to mix up basic tops, like this one from Banana Republic; they can also add a little bit of edginess. Clearly a nice vest can help make your outfit look a bit more dressed up, but it can also make for a great fall staple because of its layering capabilities. When I wear vests I like to keep the rest of my outfit very casual and neutral because I want the vest to be the main focus of the outfit. This Fendi bag is a bit large for my size and does steal some of the spotlight, but I still think your eyes are immediately drawn toward the vest. These Valentino pumps are actually my sister’s, but maybe I can “borrow” them for a couple of months and smuggle them back to the states after my trip. Shh, don’t say anything. ;)
On another note, I’m sure you already heard the sad news about Oscar de la Renta passing. He’ll be missed in the fashion world, but will never be forgotten. I was particularly touched by this news because to me he is one of the definitions of the “American Dream” and an inspiration to every single Latin American wanting to venture into the fashion industry. Below is my favorite quote from Mr. de la Renta.
“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself” – Oscar de la Renta 1932- 2014.
As always, thank you for reading!
