Going all neutral everything is one of the biggest trends we saw hit the streets of fashion month this year and I am in love with the different ways you can style an outfit in this sophisticated monochrome palette. Nothing says elegance and class quite like beige with camel on cream and white, and by wearing neutrals only, the eye picks up on more details in an outfit – such as the shade variation, shape, material, or texture. The loveliest thing about neutrals is that they always match. However, it can also be tricky to build an amazing all neutral look – it’s about making those details fun and unexpected. One of my favorite ways to play up an outfit is choosing the right pair of pants and accessories. Read on ahead for the 2019 way to wear neutrals!

Contrasting Silhouettes
Keeping an outfit in one color family means there will be more focus on the other visual dimensions of your ensemble. So instead of just contrasting color, have fun playing with the silhouette of your top and bottom. If you have an oversized sweater or robe coat, try a pair of cigarette trousers with lines that run cleanly along the leg or crop at the ankle.
On the other hand, a form-fitting turtle neck would be well suited with a wide leg trouser or culottes. Experimenting with structure and slouchy silhouettes can make an outfit appear more chic and effortless.
Pop of Color
When we think of neutral, I’m sure the same colors come up – beige, camel, cream, white, etc. But don’t forget neutral shades can encompass light and muted colors as well! I love mixing up an all neutral outfit with hints of pastel or even neon for this upcoming season. Think lavender or powder blue. Subdued earthy tones like burnt orange or olive work too. You can create a tonal contrast with accessories, which make a nude look stand out more. I did that with orange sandals here!
Play with Texture
Another factor to consider when wearing neutrals is texture. A cashmere or wool up top means a heartier fabric for other parts of the outfit, such as denim, leather, or croc-embossed pieces. Don’t forget about your sunglasses too. Tortoise can create interest in a monochrome look of nudes.
Far from boring or plain, the neutral trend offers so many ways for you to show off an exciting look. How are you guys wearing neutrals? Let me know in the comments below!
