Today is the last day of July which is crazy because it feels like summer is flying by. And before we start to see fall style, it’s time to pull out all the favorite summer trends, including color. Now you know I don’t wear a ton of color – I’m definitely a neutral person – but summer pushes me to get out of my comfort zone. Well just a little! Neon
Neon is everywhere right now so I’m sure you haven’t missed it (plus, it’s hard not to). I haven’t worn much of it yet other that this hot pink look but I am eyeing some more choices. I’m actually really into the idea of a neon dress for a wedding or event to switch things up. How pretty is this one-shoulder dress? Or, to start small, a neon cami and denim is super cute.
Clementine
I definitely haven’t worn a lot of orange in my life but I’m into this take on it. It’s a toned down version of neon, so if you’re not into something that bright, try clementine. It looks best with bronzed skin, making summer the perfect time for it. I especially like to pair it with gold simple jewelry to go with the warmth of everything. This Allen Schwartz dress is what made me first fall for the color earlier this month.
Olive green
This color is pretty neutral so I actually wear a lot of it – but not usually in the summer. Olive is typically more of a fall color, which is why it’s refreshing to see it this summer. I’m very into the whole utility trend that we’re seeing with cropped paper bag and modern cargo pants especially. Olive is super flattering on all skin tones so it’s an easy one to wear. To make it summer ready, try the color in a midi skirt like I did here. Be sure to keep this color around as we transiton into fall as well!
