We still have a lot of days of sunshine left this summer so I thought it would be a good idea to create a quick tutorial on how to achieve the perfect bronzed makeup look in just 5 easy steps. This look can be easily worn during the day or at night and everything in between. Plus, the neutral colors work for all skin tones! Ready? Let’s get started…
Step 1: Primer
A primer is a must during the warmer months. They are known for keeping your face shine-free during hot humid days and minimizing pores in addition to keeping your makeup in check all day long. Some of my favorite ones are the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Primer, which I usually wear at night. Lately, I have been wearing the Honest Beauty Everything Primer – it has a luminous base that delivers a subtle golden glow. I normally skip foundation during the summer and instead, I mix my primer with my favorite Tinted Moisturizer from NARS (I use St. Moritz).
Step 2: POWDER
To set everything in, I have been using my new CHANEL LES BEIGES Powder. This is a multi-purpose powder than can be used alone or on top of foundation to set your makeup. It gives you a bronze glowy look and it makes your skin look brighter with a luminous finish.
STEP 3: EYESHADOW
To create this look, I applied this CHANEL long-wear cream eyeshadow as a base. The name of the shade is “New Moon” and you can actually use this as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. The I used “FEZ” by NARS and applied it all over my lid. I used this dual-tip brush from CHANEL to blend everything in. P.S. This brush is great for traveling! Next, I applied a little bit of this red eyeshadow from CHANEL just to the lower lid and blended it to avoid any harsh lines. The name of this color is “Desert Rouge.” The red adds a really nice touch and it looks great with bronze colors. Also, I lined my lower lash line with this beautiful red eyeliner to make my eyes pop!
STEP 4: BRONZER
I have a lot of bronzers, but right now I’m loving this beautiful bronzer from Tom Ford. This bronzer powder has a silky, lightweight texture that gives you the most natural looking tan! I also used this contour palette from bareMinerals to add a bit of dimension.
Step 5: Highlighter
The key to mastering the perfect bronze look is applying a good highlighter. Right now, I’m using a combination of a stick and a powder. This Marc Jacobs Glowy Stick is my ultimate favorite! It has pearly gold and silver pigments which means that it is suitable for both warm and cool complexions. On top of this stick, I applied this beautiful highlighting blush from NARS to add a bit of color!
To finish off the look, I applied this eyeliner from Marc Jacobs to my waterline and I also used this nude lipstick in the shade “Eat Cake” and mix it with my favorite Armani Lip Maestro in #514.
