Turtlenecks are a timeless wardrobe staple that everybody should have. They come in so many different forms and fulfill so many different functions, and as you can probably tell from my blog and Instagram, I love wearing all the different styles. No matter how you incorporate them into your daily outfit, turtlenecks always look classy, polished, and elevated. I thought I would dedicate a whole post to some of my favorite turtlenecks that truly complete my wardrobe.

Ribbed
One of my favorite ways to wear a turtleneck is tucking it into jeans or trousers. This ribbed turtleneck sweater by Victoria Beckham is one of my favorite pieces because it’s thick enough to add shape to the top half of my outfit and contrast with tighter-fitting pants. I also love that the ribbed texture is thin enough to make tucking easy!
Chunky
Cozy, chunky turtlenecks are my go-to for a warm and casual weekend look. They look great with a midi skirt, jeans, or trousers. If it has an oversized fit, you can even belt it and style it as a dress.
Cowl Neck
Cowl necks will always be the most casual take on the turtleneck. The billowing fabric at the top can create a lovely contrast with a more slender-fitting skirt or pants on the bottom.
Dress
Another one of my favorite pieces is the turtleneck dress! This ranges from sleek, form-fitting dresses to chunky or oversized pieces that look extra stylish belted at the waist. A short turtleneck dress with thigh-high boots is my go-to dressy winter look.
Sleeveless
The idea that turtlenecks are only for cold weather is totally inaccurate! The sleeveless turtleneck is the perfect piece for layering in any season. Wearing a sleeveless turtleneck top under a blazer or a jacket helps me create a multi-dimensional outfit (without overheating). I love how this piece allows you to balance the modesty of a high neckline with the sensual look of bare shoulders.
Mock Neck
A subtler option which looks amazing either layered or by itself is the mock neck top. These aren’t full turtlenecks but can still create the same sophisticated vibe. A cute, casual look for running errands or going on a lunch date is a mock neck top with white trainers and cropped trousers!
Mesh
For a sexy going out look, try a mesh turtleneck with a bralette underneath and leather pants. For bralette recommendations, check out my post here! The trick with sheer tops is to not feel over-exposed or skimpy. That’s why a sheer turtleneck is a perfect option because it offers just enough coverage.
